Never was I going to let this Sinclair-themed world develop without a giant reference to the character who was to the 8-bits what Mario is to the world of Nintendo. Dizzy had already been the star of two platform games, but was suddenly thrust into the world of arcade games with Fast Food in 1989. There's more than a resemblance to Pac-Man, that's for sure, but instead of Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, we had Bonzo (green, slow and stupid), Wizza (yellow, fast, but still stupid), Pippa (pink, reasonably intelligent) and Fido (blue, slow, but the brains of the operation). Run around the maze, scoff the pizzas, burgers, chickens and milkshakes, avoid the monsters or bash them with the help of a few condiments, change the speed of the game with sandwiches, and if you can reach level 30, there's a big surprise! It's not too tricky, this game; even when I was ten I managed to get to level 23 in one sitting... More reasons for Greenpeace to have a fit. This time I had to demolish an entire hillside! (And that's only about a third of the environmental destruction that happened in total...) The silo I've used here isn't Data's good old three-double-chests-and-a-lamp version - I've gone for Mumbo Jumbo's silo, a two-year-old design but which still works brilliantly and can be expanded upwards. So that's what I did. Why have five double chests when I've got room for ten? Also, as the animal and crop farms will all use a certain type of wood (oak for the two that exist, acacia for the future pig and carrot farms and birch for the potato and sheep farms) I thought I'd use both types of dark wood, alternating on the floor and the silo walls. That's a lot of chests (21 per silo), and a lot of hoppers. Amazingly, none of them have to be trapped chests as each one is separated by a hopper. Now, I have to have a way to feed them from above... So, that'll be an item lift, then: it's Draykke Devry's design again, only this time there's only one column of droppers. But it works, and that's what I need. So what I realised, when building the walls, was that a tall barn with a rounded top could be shaped... just like Dizzy! Better still, with those boxing gloves sticking out the side and the white eggshell on top, it was a perfect excuse to use more of the igneous rocks that I have an ever-expanding collection of. And to think I had to do a lot of extra mining to decorate the Foundry with... So this is what it looks like inside, when it's finished. There are six silos - to store wheat, seeds, potatoes, carrots, chickens and feathers. It's ready for when the rest of the food farms are in place, though that won't be for a while yet. And, as ever, there's always got to be a sign with the completion date! There's one last bit of decoration to do in the farms, though. After I'd built the Dizzy-shaped barn, I figured it'd be ridiculous not to have a statue of Seymour as well, looking over the farms that bear his name... ...so I did! And so the sun sets over the first of the automated farms, as Dizzy and Seymour both keep guard. All right, I'll sign off with another Seymour screenshot, given that you've seen his enormous buck-toothed face standing guard over the enslaved villagers. Here, Seymour meets Pete, the cameraman in the Wild West adventures, who's had a horrible accident with his hand and can't hold the ancient cine-film camera! Disaster! Still, I suppose Seymour could do it all by himself and thus complete another essential plot point in the game.
