WHERE STRIDES THE BEHEMOTH...?

Of course, not everything I film and release under the Hammer Of Retribution Productions banner fits neatly into the categories I've mentioned elsewhere. But far from being used as a dumping ground, this section should also serve to show what else I'm interested in other than myths, legends and folklore.

In 2013, I was asked to film and edit a short video for Northern Oak's Kickstarter campaign to fund the professional production of their third album, Of Roots And Flesh. Obviously I accepted; the original edit, the full "Director's Cut" and the outtakes can all be found in this section. As can the two-part record of a trip to Scotland in January 2013, for the Up Helly Aa fire festival in Lerwick - via a stop in the Aberdeen area to visit Dunnottar Castle. See it as a celebration of how the most northern of Scots celebrate their lengthy Viking heritage.
NORTHERN OAK KICKSTARTER OUTTAKES
Released on 16th October 2014 - length 6m46s - available in 1080p
Originally held back as an exclusive for the Kickstarter backers, Northern Oak posted this on their channel after Of Roots And Flesh was released. If anything I am most proud of the title sequence... and I'll bet you didn't know the static was made with a ZX Spectrum.

ADVENTURES IN SCOTLAND, PART TWO:
UP HELLY AA 2013
Released on 28th January 2014 - length 1h18m12s - available in 1080p
Launched on the day of Up Helly Aa 2014, this was a timely reminder of where I'd been a year before with my three cohorts. The video includes, amongst other highlights, a trip round the Shetland Museum and the Up Helly Aa parade in full... no matter how cold and wet it was.

ADVENTURES IN SCOTLAND, PART ONE:
DUNNOTTAR CASTLE AND ABERDEEN
Released on 24th January 2014 - length 33m15s - available in 1080p
Never mind just getting to Scotland, Lerwick is a lengthy sea voyage from Aberdeen (or at least it was for us). So the four of us spent our day wisely while waiting for the boat, exploring Dunnottar Castle near Stonehaven, and trying to blend in with the locals in the evening.

A DAY IN THE WOODS WITH NORTHERN OAK
Released on 13th December 2013 - length 11m00s - available in 1080p
With the success of the Kickstarter campaign, I released this Director's Cut of the campaign video, containing the full and unedited monologues that the four band members delivered, plus Chris' thoughts on the abandoned mining village we were filming in.

NORTHERN OAK KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
Released on 14th November 2013 - length 4m14s - available in 1080p
Hosted on Northern Oak's channel, this is the short and snappy campaign video exactly as it appeared on the Kickstarter page. It gets the message across clearly and succinctly, and would ultimately reap their just rewards.
